May 15, 2020

Starting yesterday, May 14, 2020 Alberta Dentists were permitted to begin treating patients.  At this time, Dr. Barnes will be providing dental procedures preformed by doctors only.  This is primarily dental emergencies including: broken fillings, cavities, infections, splints and other dental concerns.  We will not be preforming hygiene cleanings at this time and may begin with non-aerosol producing hygiene procedures in the near future.  We are following the hygiene association regulations closely, so this may change as information is updated.

Dr. Barnes will be in office to assist patients Monday - Thursday 8am-4pm.

Twelfth & 8th Dental are closely following all ADA&C COVID-19 protocols as the safety of our clients and staff are is very important to us.  This also means the office, treatment procedures and scheduling of appointments will be different than before March 17, 2020.

We will begin cautiously, initially booking one patient at a time with a 20 min. buffer between patients.  We are aware that the Brooks and Calgary areas are both current "hot-spots" for COVID-19 and are trying to do our part to reduce the spread.  We have also invested in a number of additional systems that will be put into place over the next month for continual safety.

If you have any dental concerns and would like to schedule an appointment, please contact the office.

We thank you for your conitnued support and loyalty

April 30, 2020 -   Premier Kenney's announced Alberta's Phased Relaunch Strategy, with stage one starting May 14. As part of this strategy, all regulated health professionals may return to safe practice subject to guidelines approved by their respective regulatory colleges.

The current suspension on non-emergency dental care remains in place.

The finalization of these guidelines is being undertaken and will be released by May 4 to facilitate the gradual progression to return to a full scope of practice. The ADA&C , our governing body, continues to review the best science currently available and are focusing on Albertan's access to care, protection and safety of the dental team.

Twelfth & 8th Dental will continue to monitor updates and will be working on making sure any newly required protection protcols are inplace before treating  clients in office, for your safety as well as the safety of our staff.

The ADA&C may allow us to open before the May 14 and we will reach out to all of you if some procedures can done before May 14. We are on day by day announcement.

Thank you for playing an important role in helping stop the spread of COVID-19. We appreciate your patience and support in the latest of dealing with our current situation.

 Stay safe and healthy!

To our family of patients,

As of March 18, 2020 the Alberta Dental Association & college, our governing body mandated the closure of all dental offices to all elective dental procedures.

We will be available to assist with any true dental emergencies (i.e. pain, swelling, and trauma) for patients throughout this time of closure.

The safety of our patients, staff, and families is our primary concern during this ever-changing health crisis and we need to do our part to help “flatten the curve”.

Our office will plan to tentatively reopen June 1, 2020, but of course this is subject to change with the uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time. We will be back to our normal schedule as soon as we possibly can.

Take care, wash your hands, and be safe!
